It was confirmed on this week’s episode of TNA Impact Wrestling that Sting will face Bully Ray for the World Heavyweight Championship on June 2nd at TNA’s annual Slammiversary pay-per-view.

“The Icon” made his return to TNA last week to save Hulk Hogan from an attack by the Aces & Eights, and was in action during this week’s main event. His opponent was the 7-foot tall monster known as the “Blueprint”, Matt Morgan. Although Morgan never submitted, and was never pinned, Sting locked in the Scorpion Death Lock and won the match after Earl Hebner called the match – Morgan had passed out in the middle of the ring.

The new #1 contender will lead a team of TNA warriors – including Olympic gold medalist Kurt Angle – into battle next week on Impact Wrestling, against the Aces & Eights team of Bully Ray, Devon and Ken Anderson.
