AJ Lee to Face Kaitlyn for the WWE Divas Championship

During this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw, AJ Lee was victorious in a five-woman Battle Royale to become the brand new contender to Kaitlyn’s WWE Divas Championship.

The rivalry between Kaitlyn and AJ goes back several years, all the way to their time in Diva-centric third season of WWE NXT. After being moved up to Smackdown, the two Divas formed a tag team known as the “Chickbusters”, but were rarely successful. After several losses to Beth Phoenix and Natalya, tensions arose between the two, until they finally imploded when AJ started a relationship with then-World Champion Daniel Bryan.

Although a time and place for their Championship battle has yet to be announced, the two rivals will likely meet at the WWE’s upcoming Extreme Rules pay-per-view this May.

AJ Lee wasn’t the only member of “Team Ziggler” to pick up a win tonight. The “Geek Goddess” boy toy and World Champion Dolph Zigger got a victory over Chris Jericho, and Big E. Langston made his singles debut on Monday Night Raw, dispatching Zack Ryder with relative ease.
