It’s that special day of the year—WrestleMania. It’s WWE’s gala event, a combination of big wrestling matches, celebrity appearances, and a scale of production rarely seen in the sports entertainment world. As a hardcore fan, it’s tough not to be disappointed with the card going into the show, given how many dream matches we were inches away from seeing, and the stars who aren’t on the show this year. But come on, it’s WrestleMania.
AJ Styles got mad, so he threw his boss through a car window. Shane McMahon fired him, but then decided to fight him at WrestleMania instead. That’s the wrestling story of all wrestling stories, and while we might have prefered to see AJ take on a fellow wrestler, we were still intensely curious what would happen here.
Styles and McMahon would open the main show, and Shane O’Mac took Styles off guard with some old-fashioned wrestling to open the match. An extended ref bump saw the shenanigans you expect from a Shane match, though–both competitors went Coast to Coast, and Shane hopped off the turnbuckle through an announce table. The height of it saw Shane go for a missed Shooting Star Press.
The final result, however, saw Styles take the victory with a Phenomenal Forearm.
