When Tyson Kidd was sent down to NXT, nobody expected him to become one of the most consistently entertaining, hateable heels on WWE television, but he took the role and ran with it. The “Natty’s husband” and “Tyson chicken” chants became a mainstay on NXT and even back on the main roster, where his tag team run with Cesaro was also incredibly endearing.

That’s why it was so disappointing when Kidd suffered an injury that, at this point, seems to have ended his career. A bad landing from Samoa Joe’s muscle buster during a dark match left him with a severe spinal cord injury, and it seems unlikely that he’ll be returning to action.

Fans of Tyson–otherwise known as TJ–have been having to get their fix through E! Network’s reality show, Total Divas, which has focused among other things on the relationship between he and his wife, Natalya. However, that doesn’t seem to be the case as of the current season.

Asked about his absence, this is what Tyson had to say.

Here’s how he responded when asked about the explanation for his situation.

Clearly there’s something hindering relations between the former Tag Team Champion and the WWE. We’d resigned to not seeing Tyson again in the ring, but it looks like his appearances will be scarcer than ever now.
