Ah, Full Sail crowd. Sometimes we love you, sometimes we hate you, but there’s no doubt you’re a massive part of NXT’s legacy.
But with Takeover events increasingly taking place in major arenas and the brand having more success on the road, it seems the Florida university’s time as the home of NXT might be coming to an end.
Triple H announced on Twitter that an upcoming event in Orlando would feature a “special taping” NXT TV. That event will take place February 22nd at the University of Central Florida.
NXT TV episodes taped before Takeover events have certainly happened before, but as far as we’re aware this is the first time a taping has been advertised outside Full Sail.

Recent NXT specials featuring the title feud between Samoa Joe and Shinsuke Nakamura were recorded in Japan and Australia, but were not initially advertised as TV tapings. In fact, it came as a surprise that anything more than those big title matches were recorded, much less aired.
It’s worth noting that February 22nd is a Wednesday, leaving room for this to be a live broadcast in NXT’s usual WWE Network time slot. A move to live production for NXT was rumored last year.
Anything beyond this specific announcement is pure speculation, but it’s easy to imagine this as a test run for future TV tapings outside the brand’s performance center home. Perhaps, in the not too distant future, NXT will tour and be produced much more like Raw and SmackDown.
Do you think that’s a good move for the yellow brand? Let us know in the comments, or on Facebook!
