Kevin Owens has always had his eyes on The Undertaker. Since 2015, his goal has been to position himself in a way to be carded up with the Phenom at some point. He was the Intercontinental Champion at that point, so he was in no way close to getting over enough at that point.

Becoming Universal Champion has certainly done a lot to help his cause. And guess what? Come 2017, his goal hasn’t changed. When talking to Sky Sports recently, he had the following to say:

“I can’t remember a Rumble line-up in recent years that has been so strong. There are giant Superstars and facing one of them at WrestleMania would be a huge match – and who doesn’t want a huge match at WrestleMania? If I had to narrow it down to one it would be The Undertaker. He is synonymous with that event and I was always in awe of him – as a kid, teenager and adult.”

There’s absolutely no guarantee that we’ll be seeing this match at Wrestlemania, and with Undertaker really only having guaranteed plans to be worked at Royal Rumble and Wrestlemania so far this year, it may be a while before Owens faces his idol.
