If you’re looking for alternatives to WWE, many aren’t easy to access. New Japan requires a subscription through an online portal that barely accommodates English speakers. TNA is on an obscure network, and its viability as a WWE “alternative” is already questionable. Plus, most indie shows are tough to get up on your home TV screen.
But what if some good wrestling finally made its way to a service as ubiquitous as Netflix?
We already knew that Lucha Underground would be making its way to the biggest name in video streaming, but we weren’t quite sure when. We’d heard some reports suggesting a date of February 15th, but obviously that day has come and past.
But thanks to a report from CNET on upcoming Netflix programs, we now know exactly when to expect the show–March 15th.
The first two seasons will be hitting the streaming service, bringing along 65 episodes of tightly-produced, fast-paced lucha libre action. It’s not the first time the show has been available outside of El Rey Network, as all three seasons are available for purchase on iTunes. This will certainly put it in front of a bigger audience than ever before, however.
