TNA Not Happy with Josh Matthews

Can this guy do anything right?

Josh Matthews has been the lead play by play announcer for “Impact Wrestling” since January 2015 and hasn’t been the most popular announcer in the world.

Fans haven’t seemed to be too friendly to his abrasive style and recently, Matthews has lashed out at them a bit.

Matthews took to Twitter after the “Real Shoot Podcast” took offense to something that he had said (not mentioned in the Tweet). This prompted Matthews to mock the show for its name and to tell them to shoot themselves.

According to Prowrestlingsheet.com, TNA officials weren’t happy with this and gave him a warning to cut this out in the future. Matthews has since deleted the Tweet but does have the following one up.

Opinion: I don’t know if Matthews is playing a character or is just being a jerk but it’s really not working. Matthews is the lead commentator for a promotion that barely seems to be staying alive more often than not and seems more interested in getting himself over than doing his job. Maybe he’s just being a heel, but given that it doesn’t seem to be the case more often than not, it doesn’t make the most sense.
