John Cena and Randy Orton–despite being champion and Royal Rumble winner respectively–are not expected to do battle at WrestleMania. But they are having a match.
On SmackDown Live this week, the show opened with Bray Wyatt and Randy Orton taking on WWE Champion John Cena and the freshly face-turned Luke Harper. You might be able to make a guess about who would eat the pin in that situation–and you would be wrong.
John Cena, the freshly-crowned WWE Champion, was pinned after an RKO from the Viper. That set up a match between Cena and Orton on next week’s SmackDown Live.
In all seriousness, if you thought there was still a chance of Cena vs Orton at WrestleMania, the fact that this singles match is happening on a pre-pay-per-view episode of SmackDown should give away that it won’t be April’s marquee fight.
The plan as far as we know is still for Bray Wyatt to take the title and face Randy Orton at WrestleMania. Bray was recently confirmed as a part of the six-man Elimination Chamber match in two weeks.
Looking forward to one more rodeo between Cena and Orton? Let us know in the comments, or on Facebook! Either way, it’ll go down the next episode of SmackDown.
