WWE fans may know him primarily as a prolific heel announcer, Jerry “the King” Lawler is a true legend because of his epic run in pre-WWF Memphis.
Now the King is returning to his throne on SmackDown Live. Lawler will be bringing back his talk show segment King’s Court this Tuesday, live in front of a Memphis, Tennessee crowd.
No word yet on who Lawler’s guest will be.
Other segments scheduled for the show include a steel cage Women’s Championship match between Alexa Bliss and Becky Lynch, as well as a shopping trip featuring Carmella and James Ellsworth.

Lawler’s been using his Twitter account to retweet fan reactions to the announcement, even including the, uh, less than enthusiastic.

I’m more than ready to be corrected on this in the comments, but it seems this is the first King’s Court since Raw held the segment in the mid-90s, including guests like Lex Luger, Bob Backlund, Bret Hart, and Roddy Piper.
This is especially notable because of Lawler’s removal from WWE preshows last year. Reportedly, the reason is that he’s considered too old for regular TV appearances, and his ultimate removal from the kickoff programming was the final step in the gradual end of his regular appearances on WWE TV.
Are you excited for Lawler to be back, however briefly? Let us know in the comments, or over on Facebook!
