Goldberg and Brock Lesnar will be having their third match at WrestleMania in just over a week. The first match was bad, and the second was over in less than two minutes, but Goldberg promises this encounter will be much different.
This promise comes via the very first episode of Edge and Christian’s Pod of Awesomeness, where they interviewed the big man. (Thanks to PWInsider for the scoop.)
Of the upcoming match, Goldberg says it will be a “blood fest.” Whether that’s literal or not remains to be seen, but he suggested that he and Lesnar weren’t allowed to do much in their previous encounters at Survivor Series and the Royal Rumble. The next encounter will go beyond those constraints.
The first few encounters happened the way they did to get interest in the blow-off, and build on fans’ nostalgia for the Goldberg character.
He also said that this run has been physically draining due to travel, training, as well as balancing work and family. Goldberg attributes his trip during the segment with Rusev to excessive training.
There are rumors now circulating that Goldberg’s contract could extend past WrestleMania, which makes the details of his match against Lesnar far more interesting.
