Settle in, folks, because a cable TV war is a-brewin’. If you’ve subscribed to a cable service for any length of time, you’re probably familiar with the semi-regular bits of gamesmanship that go on between cable networks and TV providers. One side asks for a better deal, the other side tries to vilify them to the end consumers–it’s a whole thing.

Wrestling fans have a reason to be worried this time, because NBC Universal is at odds with Charter Communications over the latest renewals of broadcast rights. Potentially affected stations include the USA Network, home of Monday Night Raw and SmackDown Live (which recently grabbed its first ratings victory in ages), as well as E!, which broadcasts Total Divas and Total Bellas.

Other stations potentially affected include NBC itself, Syfy, MSNBC, NBC Sports, Bravo, and quite a few more. If Charter and NBC fail to come to terms, subscribers could lose access to these stations as soon as January 1st.

A video produced by NBC urging viewers to contact Charter for continued access to these channels prominently mentions WWE as one of the reasons why.

Pro tip: SmackDown and Raw are both on Hulu the next day, and that subscription is way cheaper than your cable bill. Raw’s cut down to 90 minutes, which makes it a way better show anyway. Cut the cord, folks. Get big cable out of your homes! The revolution is ours! Burn it down!

…What was this about?

Oh, right, Charter. Well at least you’ve still got Impact, right? Let us know what you think in the comments below, or over on Facebook!
