“Let’s hear it for New Day…..”
WWE has removed The New Day’s “SummerSlam” pre-match promo from the pay-per-view on the WWE Network, while also removing the video from their official YouTube page.
Before the match, The New Day explained to the crowd that they were going to help them improve their hip-hop skills.
Once in the ring, they proceeded to sing a rendition of Jay Z’s “Empire State of Mind:”
“Let’s hear it for New Day……Negativity won’t effect us, clap cause it’s infectious…….Let’s hear it for New Day……..All these other tag teams are booty, yes I said booty……Let’s hear it for New Day, New Day, New Day.”
No official reason has been given as to why WWE decided to remove the video. However, speculation is that it was removed due to potential copyright infringement of the popular Jay Z song.
Editor’s Note:
This is truly disappointing, as this was one of the best promos I have seen in quite some time. I had watched the video over and over again, clapping along to “New Day Rocks” chants from the crowd. I understand why they would remove it, but it is still upsetting nonetheless.
