It was at “NXT Takeover: Brooklyn” this past Saturday when female Japanese star Kana (billed on the show as Kanna) was seen sitting ringside with WWE Hall of Fame members Ric Flair and Sgt. Slaughter.

Reports began to circulate that World Wrestling Entertainment had reached an agreement with the former Reina Women’s World Champion, although it was purely speculation at that point.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has now confirmed that a deal was agreed upon several weeks ago, and that Kanna will indeed become a part of the WWE/NXT roster.

A recent report from Japanese reporter Enuhito, as translated by Uproxx.com, was first to note that Kanna had signed on the dotted line a while ago:

I am told that KANNA signed with WWE a few weeks ago. (I can’t say who he told me.) But I am not told that she appears on the show tonight.

KANNA did not take WWE Tryout at Ryogoku Sumo Hall last month. She was checked beforehand.

I am sure WWE will soon officially announce this contract. Good luck, KANNA!

Former TNA Knockout Sarita and independent star Athena Reese are also rumored to be coming to NXT.

Editor’s Note

Wow. What a get for WWE. The loss of Becky Lynch, Charlotte, and Sasha Banks won’t hinder NXT with all of these new signings. Fantastic stuff by Triple H here.
