Is the Aug. 31 edition of “Monday Night Raw” scheduled for Tampa, Florida in danger of being postponed?
The Amalie Arena has sent out the following statement through their official Facebook and Twitter accounts, addressing the speculation that “Raw” will be cancelled:
“Amalie Arena and our partners at WWE are aware of Tropical Storm Erika’s potential impact to our area in advance of WWE Raw on Monday, August 31. At this time, the event is not cancelled. However, we are keeping the storm top of mind. Any updates to this information will be made here and on amaliearena.com.”
This would be the second time this year that an episode of “Raw” would be postponed due to inclimate weather. As previously reported, the Jan. 26 episode of “Raw” was postponed due to a severe snowstorm in the Hartford, Connecticut area.
This was the post-Royal Rumble fall-out episode of “Raw,” in which WWE decided to air footage of the entire Rumble match, as well as live interviews from several WWE superstars live from WWE Headquarters.
Editor’s Note:
I am sure that many of you would agree that anytime “Raw” is postponed, it is a disappointment. However, I feel WWE did an excellent job putting interviews together the last time this happened, and would be intrigued to see what they came up this time around. As a Florida resident myself, I am hoping that Tropical Storm Erika causes minimal damage, and “Raw” takes place as scheduled. At this point though, only time will tell.
