The Royal Rumble Match:
If you watch back a few Wrestling Warm-Ups ago, I mentioned that once Vince made the Rumble for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, the ONLY logical booking I could see was Triple H entering at 30, eliminating Reigns, and winning the belt only to set up a rematch at WrestleMania 32 in which Reigns goes over.
And while I predicted it, along with many others from the wrestling community, it is STILL the best Rumble match that I can remember watching in recent memory. I was also at the “Rumble” in 2006, that was eventually won by Rey Mysterio. I thought WWE booked this match perfectly, with just the right amount of surprises as well as returning stars. In addition, I thought the pacing of the match was on point.
If I have one gripe it is the fact that when the League of Nations took out Reigns, Kofi Kingston was surviving elimination by sitting on Big E’s shoulders (absolutely amazing by the way), which diverted a lot of attention. Other than that, I have no issues with the Rumble match itself.
