After weeks of rumors and speculation, the “Phenomenal” AJ Styles finally made his debut with WWE last night at the “Royal Rumble.”

Details regarding his contact with WWE have begun to surface, following this historical debut. According to Ryan Satin of ProWrestlingSheet.com, Styles has signed a multi-year deal with the company, which allows him to continue to use his ring name and other trademarks associated with his character, once his time in WWE is over.

“The Phenomenal One” and “Styles Clash” were among the trademarks that Styles was able to retain. In exchange, WWE will retain rights to any video of him for future use in production videos and on the WWE Network.

It should also be noted that Styles is officially a full-time member of the main roster.

Styles made his debut in the “Royal Rumble” match as entrant No. 3, to an insane pop from the crowd. He would go on to last nearly 28 minutes in the match, before being eliminated by Kevin Owens.

Merchandise for Styles went on sale this morning, and is already sold out on WWEShop.com.

Editor’s Note:

This is huge for both WWE and Styles. I feel that this partnership will be incredibly lucrative for both parties, as Styles is one of the most talented wrestlers on the planet, and the buzz surrounding his debut was one of the biggest in recent memory.
