WWE continues to tease the debut or repackaging of a superstar using the hashtag “#WWETransformed” on Twitter. As we previously reported, WWE began teasing something was coming on July 23 via Twitter which featured an image of a “Globe” neckless that had Asia removed from it, all the while claiming, “something is coming.”

The inaugural tweet was as follows,

With many speculating on whether this was a teaser about the new WWE logo and rebranding of programs and content, some asked if this viral marketing campaign was for the expansion of the WWE Network. However, some noticed the hair along the neckless in the original photo, and asked if this was not going to be someone’s WWE debut. Following the tweet that was posted on July 24, it seems it will be a superstar. WWE tweets,

Looking at the image, it seems as if a superstar will be headlining this “#WWETransformed” angle moving forward. Unless, however, this is all a swerve by the company and “#WWETransformed” is solely about the rebranding of the company with the new WWE logo. It has been reported that WWE has ordered all new championship belts featuring the new logo, and the company will be switching to them immediately following “SummerSlam” on Aug. 17.

It should be noted that the “#WWETransformed” portion of each tweet is written in a comic book font, and WWE will have a major presence at the San Diego Wizard World Comic-Con from July 24-27. Who ever, or what ever these tweets are referencing, could be announced at the event. These tweets could simply be hinting at a new WWE comic book, toy line, or cartoon, though with recent company budget cuts making their way across the board, it would seem weird for the company to launch something new like that.

We must therefore expect the announcement of a “transformed” superstar, or the debut of a new one. There is a list of possible candidates for this role, should this actually be about someone’s debut.

Prince Devitt – It has been reported that Prince Devitt has officially signed a WWE contract. It was also reported that an announcement regarding the acquisition of Devitt would likely happen soon. Could this be hype for Devitt? It appears that the figure in the latest image posted by WWE is wearing some sort of mask. Could this be a re-imaging for Devitt since he will not be allowed to paint himself up like Marvel’s Venom or Carnage? Since he began painting himself up as characters from comics such as Spider-Man, Devitt has established a connection to the comic world. Will they choose Comic-Con to announce his coming? The original image posted by WWE showed Japan/Asia broken off of a globe pendant. Devitt made a name of himself in Japan. Could these be correlated? Has Devitt allowed his hair to grow out, or is he wearing a Kane-like mask with hair attached to it?

Kane – Saying “Kane-like mask” is pretty much the only reason I chose to include Kane in this list, and he shouldn’t be left out of the conversation. Kane NEEDS a transformation like this, and this does say “transformed,” meaning a change from what once was. Hmmm.

Sting – Many are wondering if it’s Sting. I would have to say no right away. No. Unless this is some sort of comic book adaptation of some sort, it’s definitely NOT Sting.

Brad Maddox – Maddox has been releasing a series of viral videos on his official YouTube page, which is connect to WWE. WWE.com has also been hyping each video he has released. His most recent video was released on July 23, the same day WWE began hyping “#WWETransformed,” and while it may be a stretch, Maddox has definitely “transformed” over the last few months since being off WWE TV. In his most recent video entry, he claims that the first person that finds him gets to feel his pain, which to me sounds like he’s hinting at a return sometime in the near future. An in-ring return.

Adrian Neville – It could be Neville. My only issue with the image is the fact that the line separating the hair indicates a mask, which I don’t see Neville wearing. Stringy hair: Check. However, I just don’t know what else about the get-up screams “Neville.”

Kalisto – We’ve been told that Kalisto will be making his main roster debut very soon to begin establishing himself as the “new” Rey Mysterio character on WWE TV. Could this be a promo for him?

Who do YOU think this “#WWETransformed” campaign will lead to? Let us know in the comments below.
