Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer recently reported that WWE CEO Vince McMahon believes that he taught WWE talent Daniel Bryan “how to be a star.” Bryan, real name Bryan Danielson, is currently the number one contender for the WWE Championship, and arguably the most “over” guy in the WWE today.

Meltzer’s report came in the form of a response to a rumor on the F4WOnline.com message board. McMahon’s relationship with Bryan on-air is one of disapproval. McMahon’s character on television claims that Bryan is too small and too weak to be competing against someone like John Cena for the WWE title. The rumor on the board was that it was legitimately how McMahon feels about the former “American Dragon” Daniel Bryan.

However, Meltzer’s inside information regarding McMahon’s belief in Bryan destroys that rumor.  Apparently, McMahon believes strongly in Bryan, and is also is taking credit for turning him into a superstar. Meltzer writes,

“Vince believes he took a guy who was very good technically but had no personality and taught him how to be a star. If anything, he believes he was more right than anyone on him.”

The storyline progressing between the two men is an interesting one, and no matter who is behind the rise of Daniel Bryan, one thing is for sure. There is no one in the locker room that is more popular right now than the WWE’s “Yes Man,” Daniel Bryan.
