In a new post on her official Facebook post, former WWE talent Vickie Guerrero remembers the late Eddie Guerrero on the ninth anniversary of his death. The late WWE Hall of Famer passed away on Nov. 13, 2005 at the age of 38 years-old.
His wife, recently retired WWE manager and talent Vickie, posted the following on her Facebook page in remembrance of her fallen husband,
Guerrero was found in his hotel room by nephew Chavo Guerrero on Nov. 13, 2005. An autopsy revealed that Guerrero died as a result of acute heart failure due to underlying atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease. He was slated to win the WWE Championship in a Triple Threat Match during the Nov. 13 set of “Smackdown” tapings. Batista was supposed to drop the title to Guerrero so that he could take time off to address a back injury.
The following Monday night on a special edition of “RAW,” WWE remembered Guerrero and announced his passing at the start of the show. The following edition of “Smackdown” was also broadcasted as a tribute to Guerrero.
Guerrero was then inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame class of 2006 by his nephew Chavo, Rey Mysterio, and the late Chris Benoit. Vickie Guerrero accepted the honor for her late husband.
