Former WWE Superstar Kamala has reportedly been hospitalized, according to PWInsider.

The outlet claims Kamala, real name James Harris, has been placed in a Mississippi hospital after suffering from peritonitis. Peritonitis causes inflammation within the inner lining of the stomach and can cause major issues if not treated. It in turn caused a stomach infection for harris, which has led to his hospitalization.

PWInsider claims he underwent surgery last week, and has been recovering in the ICU ever since.

Harris has had his fair share of medical issues. The 64-year-old was forced to retire from in-ring action in 2011 after he had his left leg amputated below the knee due to complications from diabetes. He would later have his right foot amputated as well, and has found himself in financial holes because of the surgeries.

He also appeared in WCW, the USWA and various other wrestling companies over his career. He last showed up on WWE television in 2006, shortly after the “Vengeance” pay-per-view, wrestling a match against the late-Umaga.

Editor’s Note

Obviously, all our best to Harris as he attempts to recover.
