Reports from F4Wonline.com, as well as from websites devoted to Hollywood, have provided an update on whether or not The Rock can work WrestleMania 31. As previously reported, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is going to be a very busy man soon having signed on to star in new movies such as “Shazaam/Black Adam,” “Baywatch,” and “Central Intelligence” with comedian Kevin Hart, making the chance of seeing a Rock match in Santa Clara on March 29 increasingly slim.

Initially, it was reported that WWE wanted to make The Rock the headliner for the 2015 class of the WWE Hall of Fame. At the same time, it was believed that The Rock would be working a match at the 31 annual WrestleMania event just one night after the Hall of Fame ceremony. However, the odds of Johnson appearing at either just keep shrinking with every new Hollywood announcement.

Filming for “Central Intelligence” is set to start in the Spring of 2015, which is when WrestleMania will be taking place. During this time period, it is also expected that Johnson will be heavily promoting the upcoming Summer blockbuster, “Fast & Furious 7.” He is also expected to be the main star in the upcoming “Baywatch” film, which could begin shooting during the Summer of 2015.

In 2011 and 2012, Johnson used WWE to help as a promotional outlet for films such as “Fast & Furious” and “G.I. Joe: Retaliation.” However, during his last in-ring venture with John Cena at WrestleMania 29, Johnson suffered an abdominal injury, which pushed the filming of “Hercules” back a bit. Now, film studios are weary of allowing their contracted actors such as Johnson, or more recently, Dave Bautista, re-enter the squared circle just before shooting for a movie begins.

While Johnson could still manage to film, promote, and work WrestleMania 31 all at the same time, he would be taking a major risk that the studios may not want him to. In addition to films that Johnson has signed on for, he will also be starring in and producing a new reality series entitled, “Ballers,” which will begin airing on HBO in 2015.

Johnson recently made a surprise appearance during an episode of “Monday Night Raw,” where he interacted with current United States Champion Rusev and entertained the masses. The following night, during the tapings for the 15 year anniversary edition of “Smackdown,” Johnson teased another WrestleMania match with long-time rival Triple H.

Triple H and Vince McMahon are seemingly on a collision course for power, in a storyline that may take both men all the way from “Survivor Series” to WrestleMania 31. The proposed angle will reportedly end in a match to determine the ultimate power in WWE, featuring Triple H facing off against a representative for McMahon. The Rock has been rumored to be someone the company would like to use in this role, if he can in fact work the event.

However, it seems like the load that The Rock has to bear coming up in 2015 may pose to be too much, and the WWE Universe may not see a People’s Elbow finish off The Game come March 29.

Editor’s Note:
He’s Black Adam, not Superman. He can’t realistically do EVERYTHING…can he?
