As reported, WWE’s new show “Total Divas” will air this summer on the E! Entertainment Network. The show follows the day to day lives of Natalya Niedhart, the Bella twins, and the Funkadactyls. The show will be promoted to and designed for women. Not only is E!’s general audience predominantly female, but the WWE is hoping that their female fans are extremely interested in the backstage lives of the Divas they support weekly on WWE programming and tune in regularly.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that the show will indeed break kayfabe at times and will show the real life relationships that the girls are involved in backstage. They have recorded footage of Nikki Bella/John Cena, Daniel Bryan/Brie Bella, and Natalya/Tyson Kidd dating and being together and plan to show some of their intimate and “real” moments on “Total Divas”. This will be new ground for the WWE in more than one way, and the “realism” of the programming is something that the WWE hopes will bring viewers back for future seasons and other reality shows they produce.
