Multiple sources are reporting that Jerry “The King” Lawler will be returning to active competition for the first time since his heart attack back in September of 2012. Lawler will be wrestling for Dory Funk Jr.’s !Bang! promotion on May 25th in Ocala, Florida. !Bang TV! promoters have told the media that Lawler has been medically cleared by doctors to compete again. He is billed in tag team competition and will team with Funk Jr. during the event.

Lawler suffered a major heart attack on September 10th, 2012 during a Monday Night Raw broadcast. He and Michael Cole were calling a match between Team Hell No and the Prime Time Players, when Lawler began coughing violently and then collapsed at ringside. Cole went silent for the majority of the match as doctors quickly rushed Lawler to a medical facility. Lawler would recover and return to commentary just 9 weeks after the heart attack and has been back at the table ever since.
