Independent wrestler Smith James has taken to Twitter to announce that he has been offered a WWE developmental contract. James posted this tweet Tuesday afternoon…

He then went on to thank those that have helped him get to this point in his career, especially former ECW champion and current TNA commentator Taz, who trained James at his school in New York…

He also thanks WWE developmental coaches…

Taz and former WWE superstar Shane “Hurricane” Helms commented on James’ signing on Twitter as well…

It looks like James will begin his tenure in the WWE developmental program NXT in 2 months, and it is uncertain if he will remain Smith “Big Game” James, or if he will don a new moniker upon starting in the WWE.
