WWE has provided an update on Paige being written off WWE television effective immediately. As previously reported, Paige was deemed the new No. 1 Contender for the Divas Championship during the April 13 edition of “Monday Night Raw.” However, Naomi then attacked her, leaving her incapacitated and “injured,” meaning she will no longer likely be competing for the Divas title at “Extreme Rules” on April 26.
WWE now claims that Paige has been told that she can not compete until further notice. Their report states,
UPDATE 4/14/2015: Following a medical consultation, Paige’s doctors have advised her not to compete until further notice.
Paige is set to star in an upcoming WWE Studios’ film entitled “Santa’s Little Helper” with The Miz. Filming is set to begin in April, which is why Paige was probably attacked during “RAW,” and why the “injury” angle is being used in this situation. Paige should return after filming has been completed in three-to-four weeks.
Naomi is likely going to take Paige’s spot in the Divas Championship Match at “Extreme Rules” against Nikki Bella. The recently turned heel former Funkadactyl claims that there should not have even been a Battle Royal to determine the No. 1 Contender for the butterfly belt, as she had pinned Bella twice in consecutive weeks on “Monday Night Raw.”
“Extreme Rules” will air on the WWE Network on April 26. WrestlingRumors.net will keep you updated on the match line-up for the “Extreme Rules” card here.
