John Cena became WWE United States Champion for a fourth time by defeating Rusev at WrestleMania 31 on March 29 at Levi’s Stadium.

Since his victory, he’s put forth an open challenge to anyone on the roster to challenge him for the gold on every edition of “Monday Night Raw.”

He’s defeated Dean Ambrose and Stardust in that time.

During his earlier years with the company as the “Doctor of Thuganomics,” Cena carried around a spinner version of the United States Championship belt to help with his rapper gimmick.

Perhaps that belt will be brought out of retirement in the near future, as Cena recently posted a picture of the title on his Instagram account:

Cena will defend the title in a rematch with Rusev at the “Extreme Rules” pay-per-view. There’s no word yet on if a stipulation will be added to that bout.

Editor’s Note

While the belt itself is bloody awesome, I don’t see why there would be a need to bring it back for the modern era PG John Cena. The old belt had “Word Life” on it, a saying Cena hasn’t used in a long time. If this is a troll move on his part, it’s certainly working.
