Daniel Bryan joined the Wyatt Family during the Dec. 30 edition of “Monday Night Raw.” Following the somewhat shocking and confusing segment on “RAW” which saw Bryan actually surrender to Wyatt and ask to become part of their family, many internet wrestling fans began to question the logic and reasoning behind this move for Bryan. Reportedly, Bryan was going to be moving into a new feud following the 2014 “Royal Rumble” pay-per-view, but now it is unsure what lies ahead for the “2013 WWE Superstar of the Year.”
DailyWrestlingNews.com is reporting that Bryan becoming a member of the Wyatt Family was a rushed decision, and the WWE Creative team has no end game with the program at this time. One of their sources addressed the lack of logic in Bryan’s reason for jointing the Wyatts. Bryan claimed that he cannot overcome “the machine” (The Authority/WWE Hierarchy) no matter what he does, and that Bray Wyatt was “right all along.”
The confusing part lies in why the Bryan and Wyatt feud started in the first place, which was the Wyatt Family attacking Bryan at the order of someone that Wyatt called, “the devil.” Supposedly, when the feud began a few months ago, WWE Creative wanted to have Wyatt talking about The Authority when he said, “the devil made me do it,” after initially attacking Bryan. However, as we previously reported, WWE Creative has been stressed out in recent months, and the booking of storylines and programs have been rushed and started haphazardly with no pay-off in sight.
WrestlingNewsWorld.com added an extra note to the story, saying that it was Vince McMahon would wanted WWE Creative to come up with this angle as a safety net for Bryan. As we previously reported, McMahon wants Bryan to face WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania XXX. However, with negotiations still going on between WWE and Michaels to sign him to a one-night deal, McMahon felt like WWE Creative needed to come up with something that would provide a different angle for Bryan to work in case Michaels decides he does not want to come out of retirement to work at match at WrestleMania XXX. This would mean that Bryan’s involvement with the Wyatt Family would carry on until April 6.
With no end-game on paper yet for this program, it is unsure of what Bryan’s relationship with the Wyatt Family will look like in the upcoming weeks. Likewise, no one knows how long this program is going to last. However, many do not see the storyline lasting past the “Royal Rumble” PPV, which will air on Jan. 26.
