Triple Threat Match For the IC Title Added to Payback Card

WWE.com has officially reported that Intercontinental Champion Wade Barrett will defend his title at WWE Payback in a Triple Threat Match. His opponents will be the former Intercontinental and WWE Champion The Miz, and the up-and-coming superstar Fandango.

Barrett initially won the Intercontinental Championship from The Miz, who then regained the title during the WrestleMania 29 pre-show only to lose it to Barrett one night later on Monday Night Raw. Miz has been gunning for Barrett ever since, but things have been shaken up between the two with the addition of Fandango. Fandango has had matches with Barrett in recent weeks, with the Miz getting involved and costing Barrett victories left and right. Fandango solidified his role in the three-way “dance” during the June 3rd edition of Monday Night Raw when he interfered with Barrett’s match with the Miz, allowing Miz to score the win. With three men fighting for the IC title at Payback, Barrett has to watch both Miz and Fandango, because he doesn’t have to lose the match to lose his title.
