Former WWE Champion and Hall of Famer Bret Hart recently sat down with 660News, a Calgary-based radio station, and discussed his feelings of embarrassment regarding Owen Hart’s WWE Hall of Fame absence. Hart, who’s interview aired on May 27th, was talking about his brother Owen as the 14th anniversary of his passing was on May 24th and said, “You know, it’s time to remember what he was. He was a great wrestler, and WWE fans around the world remember Owen, everyday. And, they ask me, everyday. It’s kind of childish.

Hart also stated during the interview that he’s considering writing a biography about Owen, who died during the 1999 WWE pay-per-view event, “Over the Edge.” An equipment malfunction caused Owen, dressed as the Blue Blazer, to fall 50 feet from the rafters of the Kemper Arena in Kansas City, Missouri to his death. Multiple rumors have circulated over the last few years about the WWE lobbying to get Owen into the WWE Hall of Fame, but the induction did not happen because his widow, Martha Hart, would not let the induction take place.

Bret and Owen’s brother Smith reported that it has been Martha all along that has been black balling the induction of her late husband into a Hall of Fame owned and operated by the same people that “killed” her husband. She had been in courtrooms for years with the WWE, battling a lawsuit with the company over royalties and the use of Owen’s likeness, name, image, and old footage. The lawsuit has recently been settled, although details about the settlement have not been released. The resolution between the two parties has indeed sparked hope in both the Hart family and fans worldwide that Owen Hart will soon be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, as it is certainly a place that his legacy deserves to live in for years to come.
