In a strange turn of events on Sept. 23, TNA posted an article about former WWE announcer Josh Mathews being in their offices in Nashville, Tennessee on their official website, IMPACTWRESTLING.com. About 30 minutes later, the company removed the story, leading many to question why the company would have posted the piece in the first place.
The article featured a picture of Mathews at the TNA office and the following script before being removed.
“Today, Josh Mathews was spotted outside of TNA Wrestling Headquarters in Nashville, TN. Matthews would later enter a closed door meeting with TNA executives. No details on what was said, however IMPACTWrestling.com will keep you current when additional details are available.”
As previously reported, Mathews was at TNA tapings in New York immediately following his release from WWE, but no deal was made with the company at that time.
Editor’s Note:
Looks like TNA missed the new AP formatting statement that says you’re supposed to spell the entire state name out now…but seriously, who cares if Mathews goes to TNA…like seriously? More importantly, why did TNA “Ryback” this story?
