A WWE superstar has been banned from one of the matches that will take place at “SummerSlam” on Aug. 17.
Erick Rowan, a member of the Wyatt Family, has been prohibited from appearing at ringside during the upcoming “SummerSlam” bout between Chris Jericho and Bray Wyatt, which will be a rematch from “Battleground.” Rowan was deemed banned from Wyatt vs. Jericho on Aug. 17 during the July 29 tapings of “Smackdown.”
During the tapings for the Aug. 1 edition of “Smackdown,” Rowan faced Jericho in a one-on-one match. A stipulation was added to the contest, which said if Jericho was to defeat Rowan, he would be banned from the match at “SummerSlam.” Rowan was defeated by Jericho and his “Code Breaker” finish, leading to his official removal from the Aug. 17 match.
WWE had previously promoted that Rowan and fellow Wyatt Family member Luke Harper would indeed be at ringside for the match at “SummerSlam,” which means Jericho may face Harper prior to the annual August PPV with the same stipulation being added to their match, where if Jericho wins, Harper will also be banned from ringside on Aug. 17.
