Los Matadores finally debuted on WWE television during Monday’s episode of RAW. During the tag team’s entrance and throughout their theme song, the chant of “olé!” can be heard, and was also encouraged by the entire announce team, especially JBL.
The chant, and “Olé” song you can hear at many sporting events, were once made popular in the wrestling world by El Generico, an independent wrestler who was signed to the WWE this year and was repackaged as Sami Zayn. Many believe that once the WWE removed Zayn from his El Generico gimmick, the “Olé!” chant was then their property and he wouldn’t want or need the chant now that he is a completely different character.
Zayn decided to comment on the matter Monday night during the WWE’s flagship program. He tweets,
Not to worry people, you are free to cheer & chant whatever you want, for whoever you want. #OLE

To clarify that last tweet, if you wish to chant OLE for me (or anyone else) you have every right to. Do what you want! Be heard!
