Ryback and Curtis Axel are expected to both return to WWE TV very soon. As previously reported, Ryback has been medically cleared to return to the ring and is merely awaiting a creative angle for his comeback. Apparently, according to reports, Axel is simply being held off television until Ryback is to return.

The latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter claims the two men will return around, if not at the same time. Axel and Ryback were tag team partners prior to the latter having to undergo hernia surgery in August.

Initial rumors predicted that both men would likely return to the company to work singles programs, however this may not be entirely true. RybAxel could return for a short period of time, before the two superstars wind up going their separate ways at a later date.

While no one would refer to RybAxel as a “very successful tag team” (the two never won WWE Tag Team Championship gold), they did start to develop a cult fan following before Ryback addressed his injury. With the serious drought of credible tag teams currently in WWE, the company may wish to bring the duo back to work as partners, leading to a break-up feud later on in 2015.

Editor’s Note:
While I’m not a huge fan of either superstar, either way works. If they run singles, then we get a deeper mid-card. If they return as RybAxel, we have another tag team to see working on TV, instead of the two major pairings that currently perform on television: The Usos and Goldust/Stardust. I don’t count Los Waste-adores or Slater Gator, because they’re both pretty much comedic tag teams not set to ever win the gold.
