#4: “My Time” – HHH

Before we could play the Game, we had to recognize that it was HHH’s time. Once “The Cerebral Assassin” left D-Generation X and joined the Corporation in 1999, Triple H and his accomplice Chyna got a little bit of a make over to go along with the “singles push.” It would go down to be one of the smartest moves ever on the part of Vince and WWE Creative. Performed by the “DX Band,” “My Time” is heavily remembered as one of the greatest “heel” themes in professional wrestling history.

Triple H had screwed over one of the top babyface stables of all times, his brothers in D-Generation X, and people HATED him for it. I don’t know if there had been that much legitimate hatred for a heel in the WWF since Dibiase or Piper. The Rock might have come close to that type of heel response, but Triple H nailed it. From ’99-’01, “My Time” served as THE entrance theme for one of THE biggest heels in the history of the WWF, and it still resonates with the fans today. The amount of tweets that we got for this column alone that said, “I hope Triple H uses “My Time” one more time before he retires,” was ridiculous. The fans remember what time it is.

One, two…is this on?
