In a recent interview with WrestlingNews.co, two-time WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair claims Hulk Hogan wants to wrestle him at WrestleMania 32 in Arlington, Texas on April 3. Flair also talks about how he didn’t wrestle like he was Ric Flair while in TNA after “retiring” from the business and WWE in 2008, his daughter Charlotte, his health, and more.

Flair claims he’s in better shape now than he was during his retirement match with Shawn Michaels in 2008, and discusses possibly working one more match, saying,

“I’m in better shape now than when I wrestled Shawn Michaels. No [another match] that won’t happen. I mean, Hogan’s been pitching me and him for Dallas forever. I could pull it off, I need like six months of really serious training and dieting, ’cause I’ve never really been exactly a cosmetic dream, but if I had time, I could pull it off.

It’s not gonna happen. You know he respects us [Vince McMahon], but he’s not gonna go back in time. They’ve got kids they’re gonna have to work on, because all I hear them talking about now for WrestleMania [32] is Austin, Undertaker, Rock, Ronda Rousey, I mean, they’ve got a roster they’ve got to figure out how to get in there, not the guys that aren’t working full-time.”

When asked about his tenure in TNA Wrestling, Flair claims that he wasn’t wrestling with, “Ric Flair standards,” but was competing at, “TNA standards.” Flair does compliment a lot of TNA stars during the discussion, and says WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan was the one that talked him into working for the company.

Flair says,

“Good by whose standards? Ric Flair standards or TNA standards? Could I entertain them, yeah. I was far from being Ric Flair back then. I just got bored. I missed the business.

There are nice people there. Dixie’s a nice person. Hulk talked me into it and I went with it. I love Kurt Angle, I love Sting, and I love James Storm. I have a lot of friends that I still think the world of. It wasn’t like I was working. It wasn’t like I was Ric Flair.

I can always talk. I can talk tomorrow if they want me to and I can get bumped around. I just have to keep my clothes on because cosmetics is a major issue at this point.

Even though I look good, I look really good for my age. I hate that saying more than anything else … ‘you really look good for your age.’ Hey, how about ‘screw you buddy.’ I want to look good because I look good not just for my age. It’s a cosmetic issue, not a health issue.

I could wrestle tomorrow. I wouldn’t want to be in the main event of WrestleMania but if I had to wrestle Hogan tomorrow I could pull that off, or a guy like Kane. He’s the best in the world. I could wrestle Randy Orton blindfolded.”

Flair also discussed whether or not he is a fan of UFC. When responding…he may or may not have gotten off on a tangent about former NXT Women’s Champion Charlotte (his daughter Ashley) and if she could take Ronda Rousey or not, saying,

“I am when Brock Lesnar or Ronda Rousey otherwise I’m not. Actually I like Jon Jones. Yea, I like him. He’s tremendous. Brock doesn’t anymore and I’m a big fan of Ronda. I think Ronda is fantastic.

Charlotte’s not afraid to get in there. In all fairness, if she had a year to train, I’m not saying Ashley would win by any means, but if she had a year to get ready for it, it wouldn’t end in round 1…I’ll predict that.

It wouldn’t be a 14 second tap out. Ashley would need to learn submission wrestling but Ashley is strong beyond belief. Today, think about it right, she could do 30 front handed pull ups and 100 push ups. She can run at level 9 for an hour on a treadmill and she weights 155 lbs with 3 percent body fat.”

Editor’s Note:

Flair says Hogan wants Flair at WM32…then says the company wants Austin and Rock…yet they need to focus on the roster. Flair is the most sane of everyone it seems…FLAIR…
