A new report from F4Wonline.com claims that Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat is still working with WWE. As previously noted on WrestlingRumors.net, it was widely reported recently that WWE had parted ways with Steamboat. However, WWE is claiming that these reports are “inaccurate.”
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer writes,
“According to the WWE, reports that have been printed in various places that Ricky Steamboat is no longer with the company are inaccurate. Steamboat is working on some indie dates, but others, notably Booker T, do that all the time.”
PWInsider.com was the first site to claim Steamboat and WWE had come to terms with a departure, but it seems as if the WWE Hall of Famer was simply booked for some independent shows and someone merely assumed he was done with WWE. Many believe that if someone is under a WWE Legends contract, they are unable to work other shows. However, this is not the case, WWE just has to approve them. Ric Flair and Booker T are under contract with WWE, but are still allowed to make appearances and work indy shows approved by the company.

Well…you know what assuming does PWInsider…it makes an ass out of “u” and me.
