Paige May Get a Divas Title Shot at “Royal Rumble”

Paige may get a Divas Title shot at “Royal Rumble” on Jan. 25. As seen during the Jan. 5 edition of “Monday Night Raw,” a non-title match between Paige and current champion Nikki Bella is expected to take place on Jan. 6’s “Main Event,” which could lead to Paige becoming No. 1 Contender.

With AJ Lee removed from WWE programming, and WWE “Total Divas” ramping back up on E!, WWE officials want Bella to defend her championship against other females from the show. Paige, who held the title for a lot of 2014, is a recent addition to the Diva reality show, and seems to be who the company wants in the title picture with Nikki Bella for the foreseeable future.

For the first couple of seasons, it was said that Vince McMahon didn’t want anyone on “Total Divas” to be able to win the Divas Championship. However, now that just about everyone is on the show, it would be impossible for this rule to remain intact.

Natalya, who was involved in the bout on Jan. 5, may also get added into the mix, as she’s had her issues with Nikki Bella as of late as well. Paige vs. Bella for the title could happen at “Royal Rumble,” or Paige vs. Natalya vs. Nikki Bella. Either way, expect all Divas Title matches moving forward to be complete fueled by “Total Divas” politics.
