The latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has provided details and more on the new season of WWE “Tough Enough” that’s set to debut on the USA Network in 2015. As previously reported, a new season of the WWE reality show competition “Tough Enough” will return to the USA Network instead of the WWE Network.
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter provided the following update on the upcoming new season of the program,
“While not announced, the belief is the network has ordered a season that would air after WrestleMania. The show will be a different format. While not announced, the belief is the show will be filmed in Florida and instead of using independent wrestlers or those who had never wrestled, it will all be WWE developmental talent vying for a spot on the main roster. At least that was the concept for the show that was to be taped in July, which was canceled just days before filming. Steve Austin was going to be brought back as host of that show, although Austin’s name was not mentioned in conjunction with this taping. The belief is also that the top developmental talent, that is pushed on NXT, would not be allowed on the show. There will also be live elements.
There is an ad on Craig’s List looking for applicants for Tough Enough, so at this point the plan is to include or at least be open to include people not already under contract. The application said that pro wrestling experience is not required.
WWE had planned to bring the show back as original programming on the WWE Network, with filming to start last July, with Austin back as host. But they scrapped the idea just days before filming was to start due to low network subscription numbers and major budget cuts.
The positive is this is another hour the company has to sell, not just in the U.S. market but also overseas on television, and they will be able to use the content after the season is over on the network.
Chris McCumber, the President of the USA Network, announced the show at The Television Critics Association Winter Press tour event in Los Angeles. He said the show would have live and interactive elements.”

Gotta love being able to answer a CRAIGSLIST AD for a WWE competition show, right? The next big thing will DEFINITELY come from CRAIGSLIST.
