A match between Chris Jericho and Rob Van Dam may happen at WrestleMania XXX. According to a new report found on BleacherReport.com and DailyWrestlingNews.com, Jericho vs. RVD was pitched at a recent WWE Creative meeting for ‘Mania, but is in no way a locked program for the event just yet.

Reportedly, the company continues to be concerned with many factors leading up to the thirtieth anniversary of WrestleMania. Roster depth, CM Punk’s current WWE status, and issues with fans buying into Batista’s latest return have all been catalysts for new match ideas for WrestleMania XXX. One such idea is RVD vs. Jericho.

While Van Dam’s return has been expected to happen at any time now, a recent report claimed that Jericho has not returned to the company in many months now due to issues with the WWE Creative staff. Jericho is also about to record a new studio record with his band Fozzy.

If both men were to return to World Wrestling Entertainment with enough time to build towards a match at WrestleMania XXX, chances are the match would be an excellent one. The last time Van Dam and Jericho clashed on the July 15 edition of “Monday Night Raw,” the bout easily ranked as one of (if not the) best match of the night and had the WWE Universe begging for a program between the two in the future.
