MARKED OUT! …checked out… RAW 08/26/13

BRIE BELLA def. NATALYA (AJ LEE #PipeBombshell afterwards): MARKED OUT!

The match wasn’t terrible, but it was AJ Lee’s involvement after the match which needs the “MARK OUT!” moment.

Lee’s semi-shoot promo telling the Total Divas cast that they were worthless may not have been 100% accurate, and you could tell it was pissing the girls off legitimately, but it was the deliverance that deserves praise here.

Lee made you believe EVERYTHING she was saying, even though no one would say she’s Hall of Fame quality yet, or that she’s the best Women’s Champion ever, but her presentation made it feel like SHE believes all of that, and that’s what matters. A+ for effort young lady. You (and Total Divas) might just help make the Divas relevant just yet.

ROB VAN DAM def. *World Heavyweight Champion * ALBERTO DEL RIO: MARKED OUT!

OK…these guys can have great matches, but RVD was a bit off at the start of this match. I dunno if it was timing, or what, but nevertheless, they still put on a decent bout. I’m more looking forward to Night of Champions when Ricardo Rodriguez turns on RVD and rejoins Del Rio. RicRod as a chubby, latin Bill Alfonso just doesn’t work for me. NEXT!

Really solid bout between these guys. I knew Christian didn’t stand a chance at a victory here, but still good ring work all the way around. The positioning of this match seemed weird to me, and RAW was dragging a little here, and that’s why my gut was to say “…checked out…”, but re-watching this match 3 days later with fresh eyes made me like the bout a lot more. Good work from both.
