Former WWE and WCW superstar Lex Luger recently commented on his behind-the-scenes role in the WWE. It was revealed that the “Total Package” was assisting the company by counseling talent on exercise, nutrition, and overall wellness a few years ago, and it seems that he is still helping the WWE with their Talent Wellness Program today.

Luger recently spoke to Power Slam as he was promoting his autobiography, Wrestling with the Devil, and confirmed his ties with the WWE. Regarding his unofficial job with the company, Luger said,

“I do informal stuff behind-the-scenes, when I am needed. I enjoy doing that. When they want somebody to tell the young guys all the things that you don’t want to do, I’m there.”

Luger dealt with an aggressive addiction to drugs and alcohol up until 2005. Following imprisonment and the death of “Ms. Elizabeth,” who died will doing drugs with Luger, the “Total Package” became a born again Christian and saw a complete life change.

Shortly there after, Luger suffered a debilitating spinal stroke that would provide for the former superstar even more life change, as the stroke would take away his trademark physique. He talks about his entire career, struggle with addiction, stroke and recovery, and more in his new book (which is an excellent read by the way and is available in stores and on iTunes/Amazon now).
