In a rather surprising turn of events, Pro Wrestling Syndicate, an independent wrestling company out of New York, is claiming on Twitter (@ProWreSyndicate) that they will be signing WWE superstar Cody Rhodes to wrestle exclusively for them once his 90 day no-compete clause has expired.

This would appear to be a ploy by the WWE to make fans believe that the young Rhodes is indeed finished with the company. Having an organization like the PWS “play along” helps add legitimacy to the angle.

Cody is expected to appear on Monday Night RAW—along with his father Dusty and brother Dustin (Goldust)—later tonight to address WWE COO Triple H.
