The Wrestling Observer Newsletter has provided further information regarding the upcoming reveal of a new WWE logo. As we previously reported, the WWE is going to debut a new company logo very soon, but apparently the company has yet to decide on what that logo will actually look like.
According to the report, the new WWE logo may or may not be the modified “scratch” logo seen at the top of the WrestleMania 31 graphic that was revealed during a press conference about the event last week. The graphics department of World Wrestling Entertainment has created around fifteen new designs for the WWE logo that the company will be choosing from. This new logo will carry the company into the foreseeable future.
This is not the first time the company has rebranded its logo. The company’s logo has a well-documented history, changing from being bulky and multi-colored, to being thin and white, to the removal of the “F” during the company’s transition from being the World Wrestling Federation to World Wrestling Entertainment. The WWE logo will always continue to evolve with the company itself, and many officials behind-the-scenes say the current transition is way overdue.
The new logo may be revealed on January 8th. The WWE will be holding an exclusive press conference on January 8th, during the 2014 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Nevada. It was during the same event in 2012 that the WWE revealed the WWE App, which was then available to the public soon after.
Many believe that this press conference, which will be hosted by WWE Chairman and CEO, Vince McMahon (as well as John Cena, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, Triple H, and Shawn Michaels), will be ground-breaking, as the WWE may finally announce the arrival of the long-awaited WWE Network. The company has also sent out media invites for the event, which is very rare.
The reveal of a new logo, one that very well may be also be attached to the WWE Network, may also take place on January 8th. Join WrestlingRumors.net on 1/8/14, as we’ll be covering the event LIVE as it unfolds.
