According to reports, The Fabulous Freebirds may be inducted in the WWE Hall of Fame in 2016 when the ceremony, and WrestleMania 32, will emanate from Dallas, Texas. As The Freebirds were mainstays of Dallas’ Sportatorium during their run in the territory, the time and location would be perfect for the bad boys from “Bad Street, USA” to finally be immortalized in the WWE Hall of Fame.
“Stone Cold” Steve Austin mentioned The Freebirds when discussing names that should or shouldn’t be in the WWE Hall of Fame with WWE executive Triple H on Feb. 2. Triple H was the guest on a special live edition of “The Steve Austin Show,” which aired on the WWE Network.
While Triple H went into detail about why Chyna may not be going into the WWE Hall of Fame anytime soon, he agreed with Austin about the fact that Michael “P.S.” Hayes and The Freebirds should definitely be inducted soon.
Other names rumored to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2016 are The Undertaker and Sting. Both are Texas residents, and Sting is only expected to work one or two matches for the company before retiring from the business. Undertaker will be returning to WWE television soon to begin a WrestleMania 31 program with Bray Wyatt, but many believe that he too will be hanging up his boots for good in the next few years.
Editor’s Note:
The Freebirds DEFINITELY deserve to be in the Hall, and what a better place to do it than in Dallas?
