During an interview with 105.3 THE FAN on July 24, former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan comments on the controversy surrounding WWE and Hulk Hogan that began on July 23. As previously reported, WWE has severed all ties to Hogan, including merchandising, future projects, his role alongside of Bryan on WWE “Tough Enough,” and more.

Details and transcriptions of a tape from 2007 were released by The National Enquirer on July 24, featuring Hogan discussing his daughter Brooke’s love life also showcased a rare side of the WWE Hall of Famer. In describing men he believed Brooke was sleeping with, he used racial slurs such as “the N-word” repeatedly, and admitted that he was a little racist. Ultimately, this led to Hogan’s termination from WWE.

Bryan was asked about what his thoughts were on the matter as he called into the radio station to promote his new book. He responded to the questions with the following statements.

“I’ve never seen that side of him and it’s crazy, all this stuff. The first time I heard about it was an interview about 20 minutes ago, because I’ve been doing book-signing stuff like all day.

I got back to my hotel room at about 10-or-11-o’clock last night, and I woke up this morning just in time to start doing phoners. Everyone is like, ‘Hey! What do you think about this thing with Hulk Hogan?’ I’m like, ‘Wait, what thing? What are you talking about?’ I had no idea. So, yeah, not in any of my dealings with him.”

Editor’s Note:

Obviously, this was a side of Hogan he didn’t show, except for behind closed doors. All this is just a lot to take in regarding Hogan. It’s shocking to a lot of people.
