WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar will appear during the Jan. 19 “RAW” from Dallas, Texas. The latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter claimed that Lesnar would not be appearing at the event, which is likely why WWE was bringing in such names as Hulk Hogan, Shawn Michaels, Scott Hall, and Kevin Nash.
However, it appears as if Lesnar is now being advertised again by WWE on their official website, and his name is also listed again on the American Airlines Center’s site as well. The Jan. 19 edition of the show, which is being labeled “RAW Reunion,” will also be the “go-home” episode for the 2015 “Royal Rumble,” where Lesnar will defend his title against John Cena in their “Final Chapter.”
It’s not clear why Lesnar was originally advertised for the event, then pulled only to be added again, but it appears as if WWE did not want Internet reports causing massive blowback on their product leading into a major PPV. With sites reporting that Lesnar had been pulled from the program, many within the WWE Universe were already hitting social media and complaining about the WWE World Heavyweight Champion missing yet another show.
Lesnar is expected to make four appearances in January, including “Royal Rumble,” two in February, and four in March, including WrestleMania 31 and the night following it. Although it is unclear on whether or not Lesnar will be staying with the company following March 30, he will finish up on that date, perhaps competing in his first official match on “RAW” since returning in 2012. Lesnar is expected to drop the title at WrestleMania, then possibly face off against the new champion in a rematch on “RAW.”
Editor’s Note:
Welp. Good to see the champ will be on another show…saying nothing…and attacking someone at the close.
