In an interview with CJAY 92 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada on April 9, WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart talks about the Ultimate Warrior’s steroid use and questions if he ever stopped taking them. As we previously reported, Warrior tragically passed away due to a “catastrophic medical condition” on Tuesday, April 8. Hart went on the program to talk about his interaction with Warrior during WrestleMania weekend and mentions Warrior’s past use of performance enhancing drugs, namely steroids.

Hart states that Warrior seemed happy when he ran into him in New Orleans during WrestleMania week, but he could sense that his health wasn’t 100 percent. He claims Warrior seemed a little “frail.” He also said he seemed to “be a little less indestructible” than in previous years.

Hart then talks about Warrior’s involvement in the use of steroids in the past, saying,

“I don’t think it would be a surprise to know he took steroids for a long time, and I don’t know if he ever stopped.”

Warrior was let go by the World Wrestling Federation during his second run with the company in 1992 for controversial reasons. ESPN writer Shaun Assael states in his book, Sex, Lies and Headlocks, that Canadian chemist Mauro Di Pasquale had proof that Warrior was using steroids in September of ’92. He then successfully persuaded McMahon to release Warrior due to the heat on him by the United States federal government. During this time, McMahon was being investigated for allegedly supplying illegal steroids to his talent.

Editor’s Note: Leave it to Bret Hart to bring this up without there even being a 24 hour period of mourning for the late WWE Hall of Famer. I give this radio spot he did a 4 out of 10.
