Tonight, in the main event of “Smackdown Live,” a battle royal took place to determine the new No. 1 contender for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania. This was needed, because although Randy Orton was the winner of the “Royal Rumble” and earned this opportunity, he refuses to face the champion, Bray Wyatt, instead pledging his loyalty to him.

Randy Orton vows not to engage WWE Champion Bray Wyatt at WrestleMania: SmackDown LIVE, Feb 14, 2017

The finish of this match was inconclusive, as it was ruled that the feet of both of the final two participants, AJ Styles and Luke Harper touched the ground at the same time after going over the top rope.

Therefore, tonight on “Talking Smack,” General Manager Daniel Bryan announced that next week, the two will go one-on-one on next week’s episode of “Smackdown Live.” The winner of the that match will go on to face Bray Wyatt for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania.

Editor’s Note:

I am completely OK with this. Not only does WWE have another week of television written, but who wouldn’t want to see these two go at it?
