The biggest news story, in the world of professional wrestling over the last 24 hours, has undoubtedly been the injury that Seth Rollins suffered on “Monday Night Raw” this past week at the hands of Samoa Joe.

Many have wondered if this was a work, or whether or not it is a tweak of the injury that was suffered back at the end of 2015.

According to a report from the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, “The Architect” was evaluated on Wednesday in Birmingham, Alabama. Early speculation is that he has suffered a torn MCL, and will be out of action for 8 weeks. This makes a match at WrestleMania 33 possible, but not definite.

The injury occurred when Joe took Rollins down to deliver the Coqunia Clutch and Rollins’ legs were flailing around rather than planted. This caused his right knee to go out.

A match between Rollins and Triple H has been in the works for quite a while, and this obviously puts these plans in jeopardy. We will continue to monitor this story and provide updates as they become available to us.

Editor’s Note:

This really sucks, and man do I feel bad for “The Architect.” Having to potentially miss two WrestleManias in a row is just awful; especially when he is clearly one of the top stars in WWE. We all hope for his speedy recovery and that we see him in action again really soon!
